Seven bushings and shaft machined for pulp grinder
23.5" Lock nut machined by Quabbin.
Quabbin machined the threading on seven Bearing Locknuts, each 23.5” Dia x 15” L with a 17”- 1 TPI double lead square thread. The nuts, four left-hand and three right-hand, serve as replacement bushings for the main shaft of a grinder, which converts trees into pulp for the paper industry. Quabbin also replaced the shaft, which is a 17” Dia x 182” L forging, weighing approximately 12,000 lbs.
